The Osmangazi Municipality has started a theater course specifically for women in the district under the name ‘Women on the Theater Stage.’ Trainings have begun, and after a 4-month training period, the women of Osmangazi will perform their own plays on stage.
Always supporting art and artists, Osmangazi Municipality has not forgotten the women interested in theater arts in the district. To bring art to women who have an interest in it but cannot attend courses due to time constraints, Osmangazi Municipality initiated a theater course titled ‘Women on the Theater Stage.’ The first of the courses organized specifically for women of all ages was held at the Demirtaş Cultural Center. The theater course, which started with intense participation, will last for 4 months. The women participating in the course will work on a specific theater play over the course of 4 months. At the end of the 4-month period, the women will stage the play they have worked on using the knowledge and skills they acquired during the course. The first course, taught by Theater Instructor Gözde Akın, received appreciation from everyone who watched due to the talent and stage performances of the participating women.
Women will be able to express themselves better
Theater Instructor Gözde Akın stated that women will reveal their undiscovered talents through theater, saying, “With the women participating in the course, we will seek the language of expression and freedom. We will work together for 4 months with people who have never received theater training in their lives. Throughout the 4 months, we will work on one theater play. This play will be one where women turn inward. They will express their unexpressed feelings and thoughts through this play. Anyone interested can join the course.” The participating women from Demirtaş thanked Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın for providing them with this opportunity.
