The Mayor of Melikgazi, Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who represents Turkey in three different roles at the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, the Monitoring Committee, and ARLEM, will participate in the ARLEM Meeting to be held in Jordan.

At the meeting, which will take place from November 4 to 6, important issues concerning our country will be discussed. Mayor Palancıoğlu, who will represent Turkey, stated: “As you know, I represent Turkey in three different roles at the Council of Europe. In recent weeks, I participated in the Council of Europe Meeting in Strasbourg, France. There, we discussed issues related to our country and represented it. Now, as one of the four full members of the Turkish National Delegation, I will participate in the European-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) Meeting, which will be held in Amman, Jordan, starting on Monday and concluding on Wednesday, as a representative of our country at the 15th General Assembly. One of the important topics here will be climate change, which will become one of the world’s most significant agenda items, particularly regarding plans related to water. Because clean drinking water and usable water is a major agenda item for Asian and African countries, as well as for our country and the Middle East. Therefore, there will be agenda items related to these issues. We will discuss the Mediterranean issue, which is one of the sensitive topics for our country, and other matters, and I will represent our country. Our country is truly a large and beautiful country like paradise. We must protect the rights and interests of Turkey in the best way possible. We will participate in these meetings to represent our country. I hope it brings good results.”
