In his speech at the 7th Ordinary Congress of the AK Party Selçuk, former Minister of Youth and Sports and İzmir Deputy Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu stated, “In the 22-year process, we built civil politics together. We recognized no power other than our nation. We have never looked down on the decisions of our nation from above. We are eager to produce works in every district of İzmir.”
The AK Party Selçuk District 7th Ordinary Congress was held at a facility in the district. The congress, where current President Hakan Bayraklı ran for re-election, began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. In his speech, former Minister of Youth and Sports and İzmir Deputy Mehmet Kasapoğlu said, “With the belief and effort to serve every inch of our country, we have spent 22 years. It is not given to everyone to evaluate every moment of these 22 years, day and night, in the service of this noble nation. 22 years ago, there is a saga of world leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who said, ‘nothing in Turkey will be like it was anymore.’ We have overcome the days when guardianship, hopelessness, and pessimism fell like a nightmare. Since the founding of our AK Party and its rise to power, it has risen like a sun. We continue with the same belief and determination. We have never turned back from this path, and we will not. We will walk together.”
Message of unity
In his speech, Kasapoğlu also mentioned that the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey is being celebrated, stating, “Our Republic was established with self-sacrifice. I commemorate the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades with mercy. The Republic is the republic of the nation, the republic of 85 million. It is the republic of all of us, with Alevis and Sunnis, Turks and Kurds, from the east to the west, from the north to the south. As long as we are one and together, we have a long way to go and a lot of services to provide.”
Kasapoğlu, stating that “we have built beautiful services together with health, infrastructure, and sports,” continued his words: “The main thing is to walk together in this noble cause with neighborhood and district heads, youth and women’s branches, regardless of rank. Of course, we have experienced difficult days. We overcame them together, from closing our party to coup attempts. With the insight, vision, and courage of our world leader, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we overcame each one together. We recognize no power and will other than our nation. In the 22-year process, we built civil politics together. We recognized no power other than our nation. We have never looked down on the decisions of our nation from above. We are eager to produce works in every district of İzmir. Congresses are periods of renewal for us. I hope our Selçuk congress will lead to good things, may God keep this unity of ours everlasting.”
“AK Party is the name of serving the nation and the country”
AK Party İzmir Provincial President Bilal Saygılı stated, “Happy 22nd anniversary of our AK Party’s rise to power, which set out saying it is open to enlightenment and closed to darkness, rescuing Turkey from political crises and guardianship centers. The AK Party was established by the nation as a beacon of hope. The AK Party is a movement that places the national will at the center of politics. The date we came to power, November 3, 2002, marks the beginning of silent revolutions. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has designated the second century of our Republic as the Century of Turkey, we will continue our path with determination, with the strength we derive from our nation. Our understanding of politics is one that embraces every individual of our nation and reunites the state with the nation.” Saygılı expressed that they are here to build the future of Selçuk, stating, “The AK Party Selçuk District Organization has worked day and night as a symbol of this effort, and it will continue to work. In this new period, we are determined to walk shoulder to shoulder with the same determination. We will reach out to every citizen by showing a stronger presence in every street and neighborhood of Selçuk. Our efforts to serve Selçuk and İzmir will grow even more with your support. Since the great journey of Turkey that began on August 14, 2001, nothing in Turkey has been the same as before.”
“AK Municipality services are still being discussed in Selçuk”
AK Party İzmir Deputy Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı stated, “CHP municipalities, just like their central management, are incapable of even collecting the trash in front of them or filling the potholes on the road. Selçuk is still one of our districts where AK municipality services are being discussed. We have implemented many projects in Selçuk, from the opening of the İZBAN station to the construction of the natural gas line; from TOKİ houses to wedding halls. We renewed all schools in the district, including village schools, in accordance with earthquake regulations. We will deliver 1,480 TOKİ Housing in March of this year.”
“There is only one party working in this country, and its name is AK Party”
AK Party Selçuk District President Hakan Bayraklı, recalling many projects such as TOKİ, İZBAN, and the renewal of schools in Selçuk, concluded his words: “The CHP municipality is even incapable of building a park. There is still no sewage system in our district. There is only one party working in this country, and its name is AK Party.”
Former Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, AK Party İzmir Provincial President Bilal Saygılı, AK Party İzmir Deputy Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı, MKYK Member Emre Cemil Ayvalı, and organization members attended the program.
