Nature lover Tansel Saylı, who lives in Bursa, has collected branches resembling animal figures during his nature walks. Having gathered over 100 natural works, Saylı opened an exhibition at the Ördekli Culture Center to present them to visitors.

62-year-old Tansel Saylı, who lives in Bursa, dedicated himself to nature walks after retiring. While being close to nature, Saylı noticed dead tree branches resembling various animal figures and started to collect them. Having gathered over 100 natural works, Saylı opened an exhibition that had never been done before, sharing his collected works with visitors. The ongoing exhibition at the Ördekli Culture Center features branches resembling different animals, waiting for visitors.

Tansel Saylı, who stated that he wants to establish a Nature Museum in Bursa to donate his collected works, said, “With the opportunity given by retirement, we started to go out into the fields. While wandering in the mountains of our Bursa and neighboring provinces, I found various works. I noticed that these works resemble meaningful animal figures and creatures, and I began to collect them. I have over 100 works in an environment that lasted for 13 years, this is my second exhibition. I held my first exhibition at the Konak Culture Center. The feature of this exhibition is this; for the first time in the world, such an exhibition is being held because I am exhibiting the animal figure works I found in the mountains. This is not the art I created, it is hunting and gathering. I collect these from the mountains and exhibit them. My works must resemble animal figures; they must definitely look like animals. Another feature is that they are natural; I do not alter them in any way. I only remove dead soil and bark. The goal is to show respect for nature, sustainability, and to be an example for the youth, creating awareness. The interest I received in my first exhibition made me very happy. Young people came, elders came. Everyone believed in the existence of nature. These can indeed be found. Each of them has its own characteristics. I have about 100 works, and I no longer have space to keep them at home. I want to exhibit them in a nice environment where everyone can see them. Because they stayed here for a week, and only a limited number of people saw them. My aim is for all of Bursa, even all of Turkey, to see them. It is also difficult to protect them. After this exhibition, I will collect them and put them in a pile. It is important to open a Nature Museum where everyone can see these. In this museum, people can come, visit the exhibition, and contribute.”
