Palandöken: “Be cautious of those who present themselves as masters on the internet.”

The President of the Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Turkey (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, stated that citizens should be careful against those who present themselves as masters through digital platforms.
Palandöken said, “In recent years, many applications providing services over the internet have enabled masters to easily reach customers. However, this situation brings some grievances for our citizens and tradesmen. Some of our citizens complain about the incompetence of the people they call for repairs or maintenance through the internet, which leads to more damage. Opportunistic individuals in professions such as locksmithing, electronic device repair, and natural gas maintenance, which are in demand with the cooling weather, can deceive citizens by showing service fees much lower than the average price for these jobs, knowing they are not specialists. On the other hand, individuals who introduce themselves as masters without being registered with a Professional Chamber also pose a security risk when they are let into homes. Our citizens should be sensitive about this matter.”

“Citizens should be conscious when receiving master services”
Palandöken emphasized that while receiving services over the internet may seem practical, many grievances can occur if Chamber registration is not taken into account. He stated, “Of course, the importance of the internet today is great. Many of our citizens earn their living from here and contribute to the national economy. However, care should be taken against those who abuse this. When purchasing services online, references, price comparisons, contracts, and reliability should be prioritized. One should not be deceived by low prices. Otherwise, you may end up being deceived by individuals without a Professional Chamber registration who present themselves as masters and lose your belongings. To prevent such problems, it is very important for our citizens to choose the tradesmen they know and trust for services requiring mastery. Because our skilled masters stand behind the services they provide, prioritize customer satisfaction, and offer a guarantee of work. The reference of our tradesmen is their shop, which is not just a workplace but also a symbol of trust and quality. “Especially in key changes, having a master certificate is very important”
Palandöken emphasized that keys should definitely not be entrusted to those without a master certificate. He stated, “Key duplication machines are sold on various websites today to anyone. These machines should only be entrusted to those who practice the profession. Key duplication machines should not be sold to individuals without a license. Our citizens should always prefer locksmiths who have Chamber registration, a master certificate, and who perform their work properly for key changes in homes and workplaces and for key duplication processes. Special attention should not be paid to those who change locks while working mobile or who do locksmithing as a side job, especially those reached via the internet.”
