The Leukemia Children Health and Education Foundation (LÖSEV), in order to raise awareness for the Leukemia Children Week from November 2-8, hung LÖSEV banners on hot air balloons that took off in Cappadocia.
Hot air balloon pilot Ahmet Başyiğit stated, “As is known, the dates from November 2-8 are celebrated as awareness week for children with leukemia. We will start flying for children with leukemia from Cappadocia on November 2. Throughout this week, we continue our various activities across Turkey to raise awareness for our children with leukemia. Today, we are flying for our children with leukemia.”
LÖSEV Kayseri Public Relations Officer Murat Gündoğan said, “As LÖSEV, the Leukemia Children Health and Education Foundation, for 26 years we have been providing all kinds of financial and moral support to our over 95,000 children undergoing treatment for leukemia and cancer, and their families across Turkey, connecting our children to life. Every year, the first week of November is referred to as the Leukemia Children Week from November 2-8, led by LÖSEV. We invite you to organize impactful events under the motto ‘Every Child is a Hero at LÖSEV’ throughout the week to draw attention to the difficulties our children face in their physical and social lives, and to support them. The color ‘Orange,’ representing childhood leukemia, will be prominent nationwide from November 2-8.”
Hot air balloons taking off from the town of Göreme, connected to the center, stayed in the air for approximately 45 minutes, creating a visual feast and raising awareness for leukemia with the banners they displayed.
