Colorful scenes emerged at the Ordu Promotion Days held in Arnavutköy.
The Ordu Promotion Days were organized at Arnavutköy City Park. Citizens shopping from the stands displaying local products of Ordu enjoyed themselves with local games, in a program organized by the Arnavutköy Ordu Association. The event was attended by Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu, Arnavutköy District Governor Mahmut Hersanlıoğlu, Arnavutköy Ordu Association President Nevzat Bulut, MPs, council members, village heads, representatives of civil society organizations, and many citizens.
“We will continue to serve our fellow citizens both socially and culturally”
Speaking at the event, Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu said, “I would like to thank all the citizens who visited us and did not leave us alone. This week, during our 5th homeland days, there is a very serious crowd in peace and joy. Our city park is in the center of our district and hosts almost all our events; it’s beautiful in summer and winter. Together with our approximately 12 associations, we will continue to hold our homeland days here. We will continue to serve our fellow citizens both socially and culturally.”
“We invite all our fellow citizens”
Arnavutköy Ordu Association President Nevzat Bulut said, “I would like to thank our mayor who provided us with these opportunities. There was a longing for the homeland here; there was no such organization before. We realized that there was a longing. A person who is not from Ordu comes here and shops, and there is a very subtle thought that a cultural fusion occurs. At the same time, we served Ordu Yalıköy Meatballs. Our program will continue tomorrow, the weather is very nice, we invite all our fellow citizens.”
A citizen participating in the program, Serkan Temur, stated, “An opening program was held here. The population ratio of Ordus in Arnavutköy is quite high. Such programs are very meaningful for people who miss their homeland and cannot go back; they help them live their culture and alleviate their longing.”
