Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ), which has made serious progress in university-industry cooperation, continues to make new investments in the field of education with the support of representatives from the business world.
As a result of the collaboration efforts carried out by BUÜ’s Technical Sciences Vocational School and the Digital Transformation Education, Application and Research Center (DİJİMER), the infrastructure of the completed 3D Design Workshop and Servo Motor Mechanisms Laboratory has been opened. The opening ceremony was attended by BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Technical Sciences Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan, DİJİMER Director Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Kaymaz, Uludağ Exporters Association (UIB) Secretary General Mümin Karacakayalılar, Simut A.Ş. Chairman Hüseyin Bölük, academic and administrative staff, and students.
Emphasis on Research University
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz drew attention to the qualified projects carried out in vocational schools. He emphasized that the Technical Sciences Vocational School has been very successful in both educational activities and in carrying out joint projects with the business world. Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated that quick responses are given to requests from different sectors; “We have established a live communication system with the business world. We have mutual requests. Our Technical Sciences Vocational School is working in a very equipped manner in this regard. They are working hard to meet the demands from the sectors. They provide training on the latest technologies to students. When this happens, success comes naturally. We strive to create much more qualified and outcome-oriented projects with our identity as a Research University. DİJİMER and the Technical Sciences Vocational School are signing activities that will strengthen our hands in this regard. I would like to sincerely thank the administrators of our institutions, our faculty members, and all our staff. I wish our workshop and laboratory bring good to us all,” he said.
We are taking the best students in Turkey
Technical Sciences Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan pointed out that the spirit of university-industry cooperation has existed since the establishment of the school. He stated that they are in a pioneering position in training technical personnel; “We are taking the best students in Turkey. For this, we constantly improve our educational program and infrastructure. We are continuously in discussions with representatives of the business world for even better. We are making new strides in vocational education. We will open an artificial intelligence program. We have a study ongoing related to cybersecurity. This year, we have completed our discussions about holding the international vocational schools symposium by our school. Additionally, we will hold a vocational education summit. In the 3D design workshop we are opening today, we will start providing CLO 3D training. The infrastructure for this training will be the second of its kind in Turkey at our school. I express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the establishment of our workshop and laboratory,” he said.
Simut A.Ş. Chairman Hüseyin Bölük also indicated that they have taken a valuable step to strengthen relations with the university. He emphasized that a valuable job potential will be created for graduate students, stating that they will continue to cooperate with the university to prepare young people in the best way for the future.
The program concluded after the opening of the 3D Design Workshop established with the support of UIB members and the Servo Motor Mechanisms Laboratory completed with the contributions of Simut A.Ş.
