The Chief Physician of Eşrefpaşa Hospital, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Assoc. Dr. Başak Bayram has started her duties. Assoc. Dr. Bayram’s main goals include providing quality healthcare services to the citizens of Izmir as well as delivering preventive healthcare services in the best possible way.

The Chief Physician of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Bayram, has started her duties. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram stated that one of her main goals is to provide quality healthcare services as well as preventive health services to the citizens of Izmir in the best possible way.

At the Eşrefpaşa Hospital, Turkey’s first and only municipal hospital which has been providing healthcare services in Izmir for over a century, Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Bayram has taken office. Emphasizing the significant contributions and services the hospital has provided to the city until now, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Bayram said, “Eşrefpaşa Hospital has taken on important roles during the Covid-19 pandemic and with its mobile hospital in earthquake zones. We aim to carry the flag we have received even higher and do our utmost to contribute to the health of all the people of this city in line with the goals of our President Dr. Cemil Tugay, and to support the goal of becoming a healthy city. With our new service building, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital will become a structure that provides higher quality healthcare services with its operating rooms, new intensive care unit, delivery room, and new emergency service. Providing preventive health services in the best possible way alongside quality healthcare services is our greatest goal for the people of this city.”

Who is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Bayram?
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Bayram, who specialized in Emergency Medicine at Dokuz Eylul University, received her specialty in 2008. She completed her compulsory service at Çanakkale State Hospital and began her career as a lecturer at Dokuz Eylul University in 2011. Bayram became an assistant professor in the field of emergency medicine in 2014 and was promoted to associate professor in 2017. Until February 2023, she served as a faculty member at Dokuz Eylul University and worked for a while on a project of the World Health Organization in Azerbaijan. Before her position as Chief Physician at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital, Bayram served in the emergency medicine clinic of Kocaeli City Hospital.
