President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiya al-Sudani. During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that terrorist organizations pose security risks for both Turkey and Iraq, and that the indiscriminate struggle against all terrorist organizations would serve the peace and stability of both countries. He expressed that the positive steps taken by the Iraqi government in the fight against the PKK/KCK terrorist organization pleased Turkey.

According to a statement from the Communications Directorate, bilateral relations between Turkey and Iraq, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed during the meeting. President Erdoğan indicated that Turkey and Iraq are two neighboring countries with deep historical and cultural ties, and that developing relations and evaluating cooperation opportunities, particularly the Development Road Project, would provide countless benefits for both countries, and that they will continue to take the necessary steps with determination.
