Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated, “As Turkey, we have become capable of producing our own natural gas.”

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar arrived in Gaziantep to participate in a series of programs and meetings. Minister Bayraktar, along with his delegation, visited the AK Party Gaziantep Provincial Presidency and made important statements.

“We are working day and night with great effort for the vision of Turkey”
During the visit, Minister Bayraktar discussed the current developments in the energy sector, saying, “I am very pleased to be together with you today in this beautiful epic and special city. Gaziantep is a special city. It revitalizes Turkey’s economy, adds energy to its energy, and contributes to employment and exports with its culture, tourism, production, and cuisine, truly adding energy to our body as well. We are working day and night with great effort for the vision of Turkey put forward by our President to establish Turkey’s independence in energy. We believe that the future of Turkey is much brighter and more promising. We are demonstrating this together as a nation. As our President has particularly emphasized, we can achieve this by keeping our spirits strong. There are great opportunities ahead of us,” he said.

Continuing his speech, Minister Bayraktar stated, “However, there are also very challenging areas. We all know how much trouble there is in our region. The war has now come to our doorstep. Israel continues an unimaginable oppression in Gaza. In such an environment, where different struggles are taking place around the world, we need to work much more strongly and harder. Turkey is a country rich in energy and minerals. We are going through a process where everyone is investing in wind and solar energy. Beyond that, we are talking about a process where we are increasing energy production in every field. Turkey’s energy demand continues to grow. Our President said in 2002; ‘Natural gas will not only be in 5 cities. I will bring natural gas to every household in all 81 provinces of Turkey.’ Especially for ladies, we need to provide this fuel necessary for our cities to have comfortable and clean air. There is natural gas in all 81 provinces of Turkey. We have natural gas in 760 settlements. 212 organized industrial zones are ready. We are no longer importing natural gas; we find and produce it ourselves. We have drilled in the Black Sea. We have drilled in the Mediterranean. Very shortly, in 2021, we increased the natural gas supply for 3 million households in the Black Sea region within 3.5 years as pledged by our President. We are now producing ourselves. In Gabar, we have become capable of producing Turkey’s highest quality oil in a very short time. We are producing 50 barrels per day from there, and it is increasing every day, every month. As Turkey, we have become capable of producing our own natural gas.”
