Uğur Arı, who achieved second place in the 88 kg category at the Greco-Roman World Wrestling Championship held in Croatia from October 8 to 13, was greeted by citizens at the district bus station in his hometown of Ermenek. Later, he proceeded to the town of Güneyyurt, where he was born and raised, accompanied by a convoy. The national wrestler was welcomed by the Mayor of Güneyyurt, Ahmet Arı, and a marching band. Expressing his happiness for bringing this pride to his hometown, national wrestler Uğur Arı said, “Right now, this is really a proud moment for me, and I am very happy. I thank everyone for welcoming me so beautifully. I am very happy to have brought this pride to my hometown. Ermenek and Güneyyurt have a special place for me. I was born here, I grew up here. I always come back. There were times when I also trained here, and the oxygen here has had a significant effect on me. I promise to provide all the support I can for our upcoming young athletes, especially for Taşeli Youth Sports. I hope they take me as an example and reach better places. I hope to be an example for our generations and children. I believe that, just like me, they will work hard and receive the rewards of their efforts in the future. I think it is a source of pride for Güneyyurt,” he said.

Later, the national wrestler chatted with the youth for a while.
