In Antalya, the Mayor of Kepez, Mesut Kocagöz, announced at the November Council meeting that they will launch 38 projects in the district with the support of philanthropists. The council unanimously approved the construction of three community centers and two family health centers (ASM) at the beginning.
In the ordinary meeting of the Kepez Municipal Council in November, 31 agenda items were discussed and decided, including 30 written proposals and 1 motion.
Before discussing the agenda items, Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz spoke about the tragic accident that occurred yesterday in the Şafak neighborhood of Kepez, which claimed the life of 11-year-old Bilal Çakır. Kocagöz stated, “Our hearts ache for our child who lost his life in the traffic accident. I pray for God’s mercy. I wish patience to his family. May God not show us such pain again.”
Initial 38 projects for Kepez
Speaking about the investments planned in Kepez, Mayor Kocagöz said, “Due to austerity measures, our request for 10 trucks was denied. We cannot even build a daycare. No excuse can replace success. We will not just sit idle because the state does not give us anything. Thanks to 38 philanthropists, we will bring works to Kepez. We will hold a groundbreaking ceremony every week.”
Five investment decisions from the November council
Following Kocagöz’s speech, the council meeting moved on to the agenda discussions. During the session held in the council meeting room, it was announced that five investments would be made in the Kepez district. The municipality, in cooperation with philanthropists, will build a community center in the Teomanpaşa, Düdenbaşı, and Baraj neighborhoods, and an ASM in the Kuzeyyaka and Fevzi Çakmak neighborhoods. The municipal administration presented the construction of buildings in park areas by a philanthropist for the council’s approval. With the votes of the council members, the five investments were unanimously approved.
The investment for the community center, which is among the 107 projects prepared by Mesut Kocagöz for Kepez, will also be implemented. The community center, which includes a multipurpose hall where citizens can hold condolences, social, cultural, and artistic events, is being built in three neighborhoods with the support of philanthropists.
