The Research Dean’s Office of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University organized an information event about TÜBİTAK TEYDEB Support Programs for academic staff, students, and industry representatives.

The event was held at the Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Congress and Culture Center and was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB Vice President Dr. Hasan Selçuk Selek, academic staff and students, companies within Niğde Teknopark A.Ş., and industry representatives.

NÖHÜ is the 4th in Turkey for TÜBİTAK 2209 Student Research Projects

In his speech at the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu provided information about the status of external project support for Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, especially in the last three years. He reminded that the university ranks fourth among 208 Turkish universities with 256 projects under the TÜBİTAK 2209 Student Research Projects Support Program. Rector Uslu stated: “As of today, our university, which has the status of a TÜBİTAK BİGG Implementing Organization, has eight (8) R&D technology companies in its Teknopark that directly benefit from TÜBİTAK support. On the other hand, while our total number of projects supported under ARDEB and TEYDEB last year was 75, as of October this year, this number has reached 86. We hope that this number will reach 100 by the end of the year. Moreover, as you are aware, our university recently achieved significant success in TÜBİTAK 2209-A Student Research Projects. In 2021, our university was ranked 113th in this support program, and in the second term call of 2023, we applied with 552 projects, of which 256 qualified for support, making us the 4th among 208 universities. Based on our planning for this year’s call, we expect to be in the top three. I also want to emphasize that the success we have achieved in student project support is the most important evidence that the culture of external research projects has spread not only among our academics but also to our students.”

Dr. Selek Explained the TEYDEB Supports for Industry-Oriented R&D Projects

At the event, TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB Vice President Dr. Hasan Selçuk Selek gave a speech about the TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB Support Programs, explaining the details of the support provided. Dr. Selek addressed the basic strategies to be followed regarding these programs, application processes, and evaluation criteria, and provided information to participants about support group budgets, innovations, and obligations. Selek also added that TÜBİTAK TEYDEB’s support programs contribute to increasing the innovative culture and competitiveness of Turkish industry by supporting the sector’s research-technology and entrepreneurship activities and university-industry collaboration.
