Manisa Provincial Health Director Op. Dr. Erol Karaca announced that they have reached the final stages in the establishment of a Pediatric Emergency Service and a Gynecology Emergency Service at Merkezefendi State Hospital, located in Yunusemre district, which is the most densely populated area of Manisa and served as a pandemic hospital for a period.
Providing information on the subject, Provincial Health Director Op. Dr. Erol Karaca continued his statement as follows: “We have two major hospitals in the city center: City Hospital and Merkezefendi State Hospital. Previously, the children’s and maternity services that were part of Merkezefendi were transferred to the City Hospital. During the COVID period, Merkezefendi State Hospital provided significant services as a Pandemic Hospital, and today, with normalization, it has regained its former functionality. We have recently opened positions for Pediatric and Gynecology Specialists in our hospital, which is categorized as an A Group Hospital. We aim to open the Pediatric Emergency Service and Gynecology Emergency Service in the coming weeks to contribute to Manisa. Thus, we aim to provide more effective healthcare services. Additionally, the newly expanded physical therapy unit will offer physical therapy services to 250 patients per day with 25 beds, ensuring compliance with quality standards while respecting patient privacy.”
Provincial Health Director Karaca provided information that with the opening of the new services, emergency pediatric patients and emergency gynecology patients will be able to apply.
Thanking all colleagues and the hospital management who contributed to this process, Karaca wished for the services to be beneficial for Manisa.
