In Kocaeli’s Körfez district, writings filled with harassment accusations hung on poles surprised the local residents. While it is unknown who hung the posters that include a person’s photo and accusatory statements, the incident has aroused great curiosity in the neighborhood.

An incident caught attention in Fatih Neighborhood. Writings containing harassment allegations along with photos of a person were hung on poles at various points in the neighborhood. The writings included phrases such as “Do not harbor in your neighborhood. He lays at the foot of the innocent, do not believe him”, “A devil who deceives women with flowers”, “Pervert and rapist. Deceiving women and stealing their money”. The residents were astonished when they saw the writings and photos whose authors were unknown.

One resident said, “I went outside to clean my car on Sunday morning. I noticed there was a writing on the pole in front of my house. I was curious and examined the writing. There was a photo of a man. The writing was made, but I do not know the person. It is said that this man is in the neighborhood. I have never seen him. The person who hung these wanted to indicate that they are a victim, that they are hurt. But I have not seen or recognize him. Since I have not seen him, I cannot say much.”

“This could be a warning”

Yenimahalle Muhtar Salih Yolcu stated, “Yesterday, a note was written on A4 paper with the person’s photo at many points in our neighborhood. The note mentions the person’s perversion and fraud, but there is no name, no address. Therefore, when I look at the photo of the person, I also cannot identify him. I have not come across such a person in my neighborhood. I do not have definite records to know if he lives here or not. I do not know who hung this. This could be a warning. They may have hung such a writing so that another person does not experience this victimization. I hope none of our citizens have to experience such a situation. I do not know the person and I do not know if he has lived in my neighborhood in the past. If there are identity details, it can be understood if he has lived in our neighborhood. We do not know what he has experienced with whom, or how he has defrauded anyone,” he said. Muhtar Yolcu also stated that the issue has been reported to the District Governorate and the District Police Department.
