A month full of events from Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality presented a program full of various events in October, attracting great interest at both local and national levels. Gastronomy Days, a book fair, a science festival, and more turned Kayseri into the center of events.

October was filled with a variety of events organized by the Metropolitan Municipality under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç in Kayseri.

Gastronomy Days Provided an Unforgettable Experience
The Gastronomy Days held at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden between October 4-10 welcomed participants from all over Turkey. At the event, which involved 57 local businesses, 1 ton of sucuk döner was served, providing flavor hunters with an unforgettable experience.

60 Athletes Participated in the Jousting Competitions
The Traditional Jousting League Competitions, held at the Traditional Sports Equestrian and Mounted Archery Facility between October 4-6, aimed to preserve traditional sports. 60 athletes participated in the competition, fiercely competing with teams from three cities. In his speech at the award ceremony, Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç thanked the participants and supporting cities, emphasizing the importance of traditional sports.

Kayseri Book Fair Breaks Record Again
The 7th Kayseri Book Fair, held at the World Trade Center between October 11-20, set a new record with 1,085,214 visitors. The fair brought together local and foreign authors, publishers, and book lovers, supporting the reading culture. Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the event made significant contributions to the cultural life of Kayseri.

Volleyball Tournament Dazzled
The “Coolest Volleyball Tournament” organized by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Erciyes A.Ş., and Spor A.Ş. was carried out with the participation of 16 teams. During the two-day event, the athletes dazzled with their performances.

Doctors Gathered for the Bicycle Tour
The 2nd Doctors’ Bicycle Tour, organized in cooperation with the Kayseri Medical Chamber, was held with the participation of healthcare workers. Doctors pedaled along a 7-kilometer route, drawing attention to health and exercise issues.

International Tennis Tournament Welcomed Athletes from 26 Countries
The International Tennis Tournament held at Mount Erciyes between October 13-27 welcomed over 300 athletes from 26 countries. Participants praised Kayseri’s high altitude facilities and provided positive feedback regarding the city’s sports potential.

The Science Festival Explored the Magical World of Science
The 6th Kayseri Science Festival, held between October 25-27, took place with the participation of over 100 events and more than 50 institutions. Workshops on topics such as astronomy, nanotechnology, environment, and sustainability offered enjoyable experiences to science enthusiasts. Participants had the opportunity to learn while having fun.

Rugby Championship Held in Kayseri for the First Time
The Rugby Turkey Championship, held for the first time at the Erciyes High Altitude Camp Center, was attended by 450 athletes from 16 provinces. Organized by the Turkish Rugby Federation, this event gained the appreciation of athletes, once again demonstrating that Kayseri is an important center for sports organizations.

These organizations by the Metropolitan Municipality, which contribute to the cultural and sporting life of the city, increased Kayseri’s recognition at national and international levels.
