The rise in gram gold is affecting it the most.
The increasing price of gold per gram is also driving up the price of the world-renowned geographical indication Trabzon woven bracelet set. The price of the Trabzon woven bracelet has risen by about 50% compared to last year due to the increase in the price of gold per gram.

The rising price of gold per gram is also driving up the price of the world-famous geographical indication Trabzon woven bracelet set. With the increase in the price of gold, the price of Trabzon woven bracelets has risen by about 50% compared to last year, nearly surpassing the price of a car.
Ali Yazıcı, the President of the Trabzon Jewelers and Watchmakers Chamber, stated that last year the price of the Trabzon woven bracelet set started from 250,000 TL, and with the price of gold per gram exceeding 3,000 TL, it has now reached a starting price of 350,000 to 450,000 TL. Yazıcı said, “Currently, I foresee that gold could reach 3,500 TL in the short term and 4,500 TL in the long term. The woven bracelets in Trabzon are an indispensable item for weddings. The price per gram of 17 and 18-carat woven bracelets has seen a difference of almost half compared to last year. Prices starting at 250,000 TL have now risen to 350,000 to 450,000 TL. This will continue to rise in the coming months. We have a woven bracelet of historical significance. It is valued in terms of price, but this is not reflected in sales, both domestically and internationally. Its market share in the Middle East is negligible.”
“There are prices exceeding one million TL”
Jeweler Zekeriya Tonyalı also mentioned that there are Trabzon woven bracelet sets that exceed one million TL, depending on their quality and craftsmanship. Tonyalı stated, “There is an even greater difference in the price of woven bracelets compared to last year. Last year, a 19-carat woven set was around 150,000-180,000-200,000 TL. If you try to buy such a set today, it won’t be less than 500,000 TL. Unfortunately, with each passing day, prices are increasing by 50-60-70% over the course of a year. The most expensive set can exceed one million TL. Instead of a normal woven set, you could buy a car. Demand for woven bracelets is decreasing every day. The reason is the economic situation. This is a jewelry item made only in Trabzon, and it is not possible to make it anywhere else in the world. Just like everything else, there are fakes of woven bracelets. Low-quality versions are made. They are exported from Trabzon to every part of Turkey and even to the whole world.”
