The 148th anniversary of the municipality established in Denizli on October 30, 1876, was celebrated. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu stated, “We will create a city where everyone’s face is smiling, and women are happy.”

The 148th anniversary of the municipality established on October 30, 1876, was celebrated with a ceremony in Denizli. The program began with laying a wreath at the Atatürk statue, followed by a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed his happiness to be together with former mayors who contributed to Denizli’s development as the mayor of a beautiful and enjoyable city, stating, “I would like to thank my mayors Hasan Gönüllü, Ali Marım, and Ali Aygören who are here today for their leadership and efforts. We are on a journey to make this city happier and more beautiful, aiming to deliver a peaceful and happy city to future generations. In this journey, let us create a city of those who say ‘we’ instead of ‘I.’ Let us be able to say that we have fulfilled our duties to serve this city in the best way possible.”

Emphasizing the efforts to make Denizli enjoyable, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, “We will make the agriculture, tourism, livestock, and many beauties of this city enjoyable. We will carry our story into a more beautiful process. We will continue our journey to make our people happier in Denizli. Today, we are experiencing the joy of celebrating the anniversary of our municipality together. We hope that when we reach the next year, taking another step on the efforts of our predecessors will be our source of happiness in reaching a city of happy people. Mayor Çavuşoğlu and the former mayors later visited the graves of deceased mayors and recited prayers. The ceremony held at Delikliçınar Square was attended by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, former mayors Hasan Gönüllü, Ali Marım, Ali Aygören, along with guests, citizens, and employees of the Metropolitan Municipality.
