The 101st anniversary of the Republic was celebrated with a lively event on the Silivri coast by the Silivri Municipality. The celebrations began with a lantern parade, which created colorful scenes along the coast. The event continued with a concert by the famous artist İlyas Yalçıntaş, providing unforgettable moments for the people of Silivri.

The celebrations for the 101st year of the Republic kicked off with an enthusiastic lantern parade starting from the front of the old district governor’s office in Silivri. The march was attended by Silivri Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu and his wife Hayriye Sena Balcıoğlu, Silivri District Governor Tolga Toğan, and district protocol. During the walk that continued to the coast with a band, torches were lit, and the joy of the Republic was experienced to the fullest. The night continued with DJ Emre’s stage performance and the band’s marches. The artist İlyas Yalçıntaş, who took the stage afterward, elevated the spirit of the Republic on the Silivri coast.

Mayor Balcıoğlu, speaking about the unifying power of the Republic, said:
“The Republic is not only an inspiration for us, but for oppressed nations all around the world. The Republic is the struggle of a people resisting in poverty, captivity, and despair to realize their dream of freedom and independence. Tonight, I see in Silivri that people with different thoughts and beliefs share this enthusiasm shoulder to shoulder, without discrimination. This is what the Republic is; it is unifying, embracing, and a common pride of the people!”

“The Republic is the promise of honor and integrity we give to each other!”
Mayor Balcıoğlu expressed that the 101st anniversary of the Republic is celebrated with the same enthusiasm as its first day, stating, “There is no division among us in Silivri. In Silivri, no one is marginalized regardless of their political views, beliefs, ideas, or hometown. This is why we celebrate the 101st year of the Republic with the enthusiasm of its first day. Long live the Republic!”
In his speech, Mayor Balcıoğlu addressed the youth of the Republic, recalling Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words, “My hope is in the youth.” He noted that he is working tirelessly to raise generations that believe in democracy, have free thoughts, free conscience, and free knowledge, emphasizing that the Republic will endure forever thanks to the youth. Mayor Balcıoğlu stated that the Republic provides everyone with an equal and prosperous life, saying, “We will walk continuously on the path opened by that blue-eyed giant, Great Atatürk, toward the target he showed!”

“The Republic is especially the home of the voiceless”
Highlighting that they are inspired by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha’s words, “The Republic is especially the home of the voiceless,” Mayor Balcıoğlu stated, “For us, being municipal means being the voice of the voiceless, inspired by our Ancestor. That’s why we will not let any of our citizens feel alone in Silivri! We will manage Silivri in the light of the Republic, following Atatürk’s path, making it the strongest symbol of cooperation, solidarity, and being one in joy and sorrow.”
Mayor Balcıoğlu expressed that the guarantee of the Republic lies in the youth and women, who will ensure its eternal existence, emphasizing that solidarity will keep the Republic of Turkey standing forever.
