Firat University (FÜ), according to URAP results, has risen 7 places in the success ranking over the last four years, becoming the 17th best university in Turkey.
The 2024-2025 Turkey ranking announced by URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance), an organization established within the Informatics Institute of Middle East Technical University to evaluate higher education institutions based on various academic criteria, has been released. FÜ, which was in 24th place in the 2020-2021 Turkey ranking and has progressed each year, has succeeded in ranking 17th in the 2024-2025 Turkey ranking. According to URAP data, FÜ has risen 7 places in the last 4 years. Among state universities, FÜ is ranked 14th, while among universities with a medical faculty, it is ranked 12th.
When examining the cities of the state universities that entered the top 14 in the ranking announced by URAP, it was observed that 7 cities made the list. Universities in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Kocaeli, Kayseri, Erzurum, and Elazig ranked among the top 15. Elazig was the only non-metropolitan province to make it to the top 15 list.
FÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göktaş, who made a statement on the subject, said, “As FÜ, we have succeeded in becoming the 17th best university in Turkey by rising 7 places in the URAP ranking over the last four years. This achievement reflects the dedicated work of our academic staff, the exceptional efforts of our students, and the trust placed in our university. Ranking 14th among state universities and 12th among universities with medical faculties once again demonstrates the quality of our academic and scientific work. Particularly, succeeding in entering the top 15 as a non-metropolitan city like Elazig, after major metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, is a source of pride for us. This situation is also a tangible indicator of the progress our region has made in education and science. In the coming years, we aim to continue our academic success and further elevate our education quality, striving to rise higher in both Turkey and internationally. I sincerely thank all our academic and administrative staff, our students, and all our stakeholders who have contributed to this success,” he said.
