The Republic celebration in Pendik was captured from the air with a 101-meter Turkish flag.

A march was organized in Pendik as part of the celebrations for the 101st anniversary of the Republic. The 101-meter-long giant Turkish flag carried during the march, which saw the participation of hundreds of students and citizens, was captured in aerial footage.

On October 29, Republic Day, a march was organized in Pendik for the 101st anniversary celebrations. After the wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk monument, hundreds of students and citizens joined the march. Starting from the event area on Pendik beach, the students carried a 101-meter Turkish flag in their hands. The Pendik Municipality band accompanied the marching crowd, along with a torchlight procession. The march concluded at the event area on the beach, where the 101-meter giant Turkish flag was captured in aerial footage.

Ahmet Cin, the Mayor of Pendik, who attended the celebrations, stated, “I wish our Republic Day to be beneficial for our homeland and nation. We will hold a march with a 101-meter flag on the 101st year of our Republic. We pray for the mercy of all our martyrs who fell for this country. We wish health and safety for our veterans. God willing, we will conduct this march together with our people and celebrate the 101st year of our Republic. We will celebrate it with great enthusiasm. These events are very valuable and important in terms of the unity and solidarity of our country. God willing, in the process ahead, our activities and celebrations will continue in a much more effective way,” he said.

Participant Damla Nur Bakırcı expressed, “I am very happy, especially because it is my birthday. I’m glad, it’s a beautiful thing, I’m very happy. There is a large crowd, it’s nice, everyone is cheerful, our children are here, with flags in our hands. Today is our greatest happiness.” Another citizen named Çağla Nur Ok said, “Today is a very precious day, the 101st year of the Republic. We are grateful to Atatürk for everything he gave us. It’s a very precious day, a very cheerful day. Especially important for children. I am proud to be Turkish, we all take pride in this situation. We will celebrate this day until the evening.”
