Tavas Mayor Kadir Tatık stated, “It is our sole duty to protect the Republic, which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk called ‘My Greatest Work’, to keep it alive forever, and to pass it on to future generations.”

Tavas Mayor Kadir Tatık released a press message on the occasion of the October 29 Republic Day. In his message, Mayor Tatık stated the following: “Today, we are experiencing the pride and enthusiasm of celebrating the 101st anniversary of our Republic, established by our esteemed Nation through faith, courage, heroism, and sacrifice, and we feel its excitement in our hearts. October 29 is the symbol of our independence and sovereignty. The Republic, established 101 years ago under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, is a symbol of the Turkish nation’s determination and will, and its love for independence. The date of October 29, 1923, is a blessed day that crowned the struggle for independence and future of the Turkish Nation with national sovereignty. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades made great sacrifices to realize our nation’s desire for independence and sovereignty. On October 29, 1923, they established our Republic as a fully independent state. This is not just a form of governance; it is the most important step taken towards modernization, development, and progress. Today, we must work together and be in unity and solidarity to carry the gains provided to us by the Republic further forward.”

Mayor Tatık, who said, “The declaration of our Republic is an achievement obtained by overcoming many difficulties,” continued, “Today, we must act with the same determination and resolve as in the past to preserve this great heritage. It is vital for us and our duty to convey the values, meaning, and importance of the Republic to our younger generations in the best way, to teach them their responsibilities, and to ensure they grow up with this awareness. Because our future will rise on their shoulders. Because the Republic is not only a legacy of the past but also the guarantee of the future. It is our sole duty to protect the Republic, which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk called ‘My Greatest Work’, to keep it alive forever, and to pass it on to future generations. We will continue to protect and preserve our independence and Republic under our Star and Crescent Flag as one and together. We will work harder, produce more, and leave stronger and more beautiful tomorrows for our younger generations. With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely celebrate the October 29 Republic Day of our esteemed Nation, and I respectfully, with mercy and gratitude, commemorate our dear martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades. Happy Republic Day to us.”
