Burak Pehlivan, a member of the Nationalist Movement Party’s (MHP) 13th Term Central Executive Board, said in a message celebrating the Republic Day on October 29, “The Republic is the result of our glorious nation’s absolute unity and solidarity around the ideal of independence, achieved with an unprecedented will and courage during our War of Independence.”

He emphasized that the lands of this country, watered with the blood of martyrs, should not be forgotten as mere pieces of land but rather transformed into a sacred homeland through the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans. MHP’s 13th Term Central Executive Board Member Burak Pehlivan stated, “With the proclamation of the Republic, a new era began in this blessed homeland, where countless heroes, known and unknown, rest without shrouds in every corner. The Republic has confirmed the ownership of sovereignty by allowing the Turkish nation to direct and orient its own destiny. Our glorious nation continues to live and maintain the Republic with the sacrifices of our martyrs and veterans, who wrote the epic of liberation. The date of October 29, 1923, is the threshold of revival and ascension. The Republic of Turkey has instilled fear in the oppressor and confidence in the oppressed, becoming the guarantee of national unity and solidarity. The Turkish nation, 101 years ago, signed one of the greatest rebirths in its history, driving out the seven invading states and their pawns from its homeland, tearing apart occupation plans and enslavement projects. Today, our Glorious Nation is showing the necessary vigilance against global games while holding onto the gains achieved with the Republic. The superior foresight of the Turkish Nation continues to see every game played behind the scenes and to stand against imperialist ambitions. The Republic of Turkey is confidently and steadily walking hand in hand with our state and nation on the path to becoming a Leading Country and a Global Power in the World. With these feelings and thoughts, I celebrate our Republic Day on October 29 with my deepest emotions.”
