The 101st anniversary of the Republic continues to be celebrated with enthusiasm in Bakırköy. As part of the festivities organized by the municipality, hundreds of citizens attended the opening of the exhibition ‘The Beauties of Turkey from 101 Photographers on the 101st Year of the Republic’ to the Seyyah concert.

As part of the festivities organized by the municipality, hundreds of citizens gathered for events throughout the district, from the opening of the exhibition ‘Turkey’s Beauties from 101 Photographers at the 101st Year of the Republic’ to the Seyyah concert.
On the third day of the ‘Republic is Ours 101st Year Festival’, Bakırköy Municipality organized numerous events in various locations across the district. As part of the events, the exhibition ‘Turkey’s Beauties from 101 Photographers at the 101st Year of the Republic’ was inaugurated at the Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center with the participation of Bakırköy Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu. In Cumhuriyet Square, in addition to the music performance by the Bakırköy Artists Association, thousands of citizens aged from seven to seventy experienced joyful moments with the band, live statue, and juggler performances.

Art activities continued at the Yeşilköy beach. After the performance of the Bakırköy Music Academy Choir, citizens witnessed the unifying power of music and dance while watching a tango show.
In the Seyyah concert, the stories of Turkey were brought to life through songs
The third day of the ‘Republic is Ours 101st Year Events’ concluded with magnificent activities held at the Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center. The enjoyable evening began with a Folklore Show by the Ataköy Folk Dance Sports Club and was crowned with the Seyyah concert. The concert, which was met with great interest from citizens, featured songs that revived stories from all over Turkey, sung in unison. Bakırköy Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu, who attended the concert program, joined in enthusiastically with the songs.

At the end of the concert, Mayor Ovalıoğlu presented flowers to the artists and said, “You gave us a beautiful night, thank you very much. You said, ‘I want to come among you, I felt at home,’ because you came to ‘Our Home Bakırköy.’ Actually, you came to Bakırköy, the fortress of the Republic, welcome. The Republic is ours, may our 101st year be blessed. Here’s to many more hundreds, thousands of years.”
