The project titled “Integration of Digital Health-Based Courses into the Medical Faculty Curriculum: A Mixed Method Research” supported by TÜBİTAK aims to promote digital health in the medical curriculum at Kastamonu University.
The project, led by Dr. Gülşen Gündoğdu, a lecturer at the Inebolu Vocational School of Kastamonu University, has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module. The project aims to examine in detail how digital health technologies are integrated into the curricula of medical faculties in Turkey. The research intends to equip future physicians with greater competencies in this field by popularizing the use of digital health technologies in education. A comprehensive study will be conducted on how much digital health courses are included in medical faculties in Turkey, how these courses are delivered, and how they can be improved.
In addition to Dr. Gülşen Gündoğdu from Kastamonu University, the project also involves researchers such as Dr. İrem Tanyıldızı Baydili from Fırat University, Dr. Enise Gündoğdu from Kütahya Dumlupınar University, and Eda Emül from Batman University.
Kastamonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated in his remarks regarding the project that an important step will be taken in terms of the integration of health technologies into medical education. He expressed that the addition of innovations in the field of digital health to the educational curriculum would greatly contribute to the professional development of students. Rector Topal also congratulated all the academicians involved in the project and wished for the continuation of these successful efforts.
