The Boğazkale district of Çorum has been connected to natural gas.
The gas supply process in the natural gas pipeline completed by Çorumgaz A.Ş. was ceremoniously carried out in the district. With Boğazkale’s access to natural gas, all districts in Çorum have now been connected to natural gas.
In his speech at the ceremony, Boğazkale Mayor Adem Özel expressed his gratitude to the President of Turkey, who acts with the vision of raising the prosperity of the country, for providing this opportunity while bringing this service to our district.
Mayor Özel stated that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Boğazkale has reached modern living standards just like everywhere else in Turkey, saying, “The opportunities provided to us are among the best examples of the development and progress ideal that our republic has left us as a legacy. We continue to take significant steps towards the development of Boğazkale and achieving a more modern standard of living. With the contributions of our politicians, we are building a stronger Boğazkale in every field. The arrival of natural gas has opened the door to a new era in our district. These investments illuminate not only our present but also the future of our children and grandchildren. The access of Boğazkale to natural gas, which is a safer and more economical solution for heating, cooking, and energy, also raises the level of development of our district and improves our quality of life.”

“We are celebrating two holidays together”
AK Party Çorum MP Yusuf Ahlatcı stated that they are celebrating two holidays at once in Boğazkale.
Expressing the honor of fulfilling their promise to the people of Boğazkale, MP Ahlatcı emphasized that with Boğazkale’s access to natural gas, there are no districts in Çorum left without natural gas.
Ahlatcı, who mentioned that he himself often carried coal to stoves, said, “However, this is generally done by our women. Natural gas is a great blessing for our women. They have been relieved of a great burden. Nothing comes without effort. We promised, put in effort, and brought natural gas to our district.”
Ahlatcı also delivered messages of unity and solidarity, stating, “As long as we do not disrupt our unity and solidarity, neither terrorists nor imperialists can destroy this country. I condemn the treacherous attack on TUSAŞ, one of the crown jewels of our defense industry, in recent days. We remember our martyrs with mercy. I extend my respect and gratitude to our martyrs and veterans who have left us this homeland, especially to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades.”

“There are no districts without natural gas in Çorum”
Çorumgaz General Manager Kasım Kahraman reminded that until 2004, natural gas was only used in 5 cities: Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa, Eskişehir, and Izmit. He stated, “With the privatization of the natural gas market, Çorum became the first city to receive natural gas supply from the private sector. With the exceptional effort of our entire team, we connected Çorum to natural gas in an unprecedented speed of just 139 days. Subsequently, we took significant steps in natural gas distribution activities in our region by bringing natural gas to the provinces of Yozgat, Kastamonu, Çankırı, and Karabük. After 2005, we received intense requests for natural gas from our districts. In line with our President’s understanding that whatever exists in the west will also be in the east, we began to deliver natural gas to our districts. In 2006, we connected the Sungurlu district; in 2015, Alaca, Osmancık, and İskilip districts; in 2019, Mecitözü, Dodurga, and Oğuzlar districts; in 2022, Laçin, Bayat, Uğurludağ, and Kargı districts; and in 2023, we connected our Ortaköy district and Aşdağul town to natural gas. As of today, we are happy to provide natural gas to our 181,500 subscribers in Çorum Province.”
Kahraman announced that a total of 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been used in Çorum city center and its districts so far, saying, “If there was no natural gas, 3 million trucks of coal would have been used instead. Today, we are pleased to connect our Boğazkale district with the economy and comfort of natural gas. With the inclusion of this beautiful district in the services we provide, all 13 districts of Çorum have been connected to natural gas. So far, 141 subscription applications have been made from the streets and avenues where we have established natural gas lines in Boğazkale. Applications are still ongoing for buildings with service boxes. The process of supplying natural gas to buildings has begun as of today.
