Aydın, which the famous historian Herodotus described as “the most beautiful land under the sky” and which adorns the dreams of many people to move to the Aegean, is also among the preferences of foreign citizens. According to the data from the Aydın Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, there are foreign citizens from 118 different countries residing in Aydın, including those under temporary protection as well as irregular and regular migrants.
According to the data as of October 19, 2023, the number of foreigners with residence permits was 11,209, which decreased to 9,964 by October 17, 2024. While there was approximately an 11% decrease in the number of foreigners obtaining residence permits within a year, a total of 1,245 foreign citizens canceled their residence in Aydın. On the other hand, according to the data, there are a total of 1,041,610 foreign citizens holding residence permits living in Turkey as of October 17, 2024.
