Efeler Mayor Anıl Yetişkin released a message on the occasion of the 29th of October Republic Day. In his message, Mayor Yetişkin stated, “We are experiencing the pride and honor of the 29th of October Republic Day, which crowns our nation’s struggle for independence and declares that sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation. Our Republic is the greatest step we have taken towards becoming a modern, democratic, and secular society under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The Republic is not just a form of governance but also a symbol of freedom, equality, and justice. Atatürk’s saying, ‘Sovereignty is the nation’s unconditionally,’ reminds us of the immense value of these principles. We must act with this awareness and work with all our strength to uphold the values of our Republic. The achievements of our Republic are not only successes obtained in the past but also guarantees for our future. The gains acquired through revolutions in every field, from education to health, from industry to agriculture, place a great responsibility on us not just to live but also to advance further. With the consciousness of this responsibility, we will continue to walk in Atatürk’s footsteps and work tirelessly to reach the goals he set. Our Republic Day is not just a celebration but also a moment of respect for our past and future.
