The Gallery Cennet, operating under the Küçükçekmece Municipality, presented an exhibition titled “Out of Line” featuring works by 29 young artists from all over Turkey for art lovers to enjoy.
The 60 artworks created in line with the modern art understanding of the Republic and using various techniques will be on display at Gallery Cennet until December 10th. The exhibition opening was attended by Küçükçekmece Deputy Mayor Mehmet Emin Ay, Private Secretary İlker Çetinkaya, Culture and Social Affairs Director Deniz Gürbey, and many citizens.
“It is our duty to protect the Republic”
In his speech at the exhibition opening, Küçükçekmece Deputy Mayor Mehmet Emin Ay stated, “In the 101st year of our Republic, it is our duty to protect, elevate, and bring to the level of contemporary civilizations the Republic established by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends. As Küçükçekmece Municipality, we will continue to contribute to art and art lovers under the leadership of our Mayor Kemal.”
“We will continue to nourish our youth with art in the light of the Republic”
Deniz Gürbey, Director of Culture and Social Affairs at Küçükçekmece Municipality, said in his speech, “As you all know, we are in Republic Week and we are celebrating the 101st anniversary of our Republic. In this context, I celebrate our Republic Day on October 29. The Republic is not only a form of government but also a door that opens to art, science, and progress. In the light of our Republic, we will continue to nourish our youth with art and work to ensure that culture and art find a greater place in Küçükçekmece.”
“The artists in the exhibition are young talents who can break their lines”
Young artist Emin Çelik, who participated in the exhibition from Istanbul, said, “I participated in the exhibition with the sculpture I made. The artists in the exhibition are young talents who can step outside their lines and break their lines. There are many works in the exhibition, including paintings, sculptures, and Traditional Turkish Arts made using almost every technique. I would like to thank Küçükçekmece Municipality for opening its doors to us.”
Nur Öztürk, whose work is also featured in the exhibition, stated, “This exhibition has become a space where 29 young people came together and met. I have two series of photographs titled ‘The Nature of Bodies’ in the exhibition. My goal was to show that the things people see as flaws in their bodies or as a mark, hereditary disease, actually exist in nature as well.”
The exhibition features various themes such as popular culture, feminism, the nature-human relationship, and social memory, blending traditional art forms with contemporary techniques. The participating artists in the exhibition include Ayça Selcen Korgun, Bengisu Kaya, Cemil Arslan, Deniz Varlı, Erkan Şakar, Mavi Melike Çatkın, Selma Koç, Emine Tuğyan Gündoğdu, Tuğba Banu Oktay, Mustafa Can Baltacı, Gülfidan Yapar, Özge Boz, Esin Berk, Kemal Köse, Ahmet Oğuzhan Akkök, Sena Dede, Nur Öztürk, Eylem Sayın, Tansu Kırıcı, Emin Çelik, Mehlika Hilal Kırca, Selin Bintaş Çeliktaş, Saliha Beyza Umurca, Gamze Kabaklıoğlu, Mustafa Karaca, Merve Zeybek, İrem Yüksek Bilgili, Gökçe Çiçek Erdemir, and Gülbahar Gümüşten Çelik.
