The mayors of the Union of Natural Cities were fascinated by Kuşadası.

The mayors and council members who came to Kuşadası to attend the Natural Cities Union’s Ordinary Council Meeting in October toured the city’s natural beauties as well as its cultural, artistic, and educational centers with Mayor Ömer Günel. During the tour organized to promote the city, the union presidents were impressed by Güvercinada Castle, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the newly established Maritime Trade History Museum.

Kuşadası Municipality hosted the Ordinary Council Meeting of the Natural Cities Union, of which it is a founding member. After the meeting, the mayors who are members of the union toured many cultural, historical, and touristic routes in Kuşadası. They were accompanied by Ömer Günel, the Mayor of Kuşadası and also the President of the Natural Cities Union. The first stop for the mayors of the member municipalities of the Natural Cities Union during the tour was the Station Kuşadası Community Center, established through collaboration between Kuşadası Municipality, Habitat Association, and Meta. Here, Burcu Kanbal, Project Manager of Kuşadası Municipality, provided information to the delegation about the seminars and training organized at the center. The group then visited Güvercinada Castle, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the newly established Maritime Trade History Museum, accompanied by Art Historian Ersin Serçek, who works at the Kuşadası Municipality. The mayors, who were fascinated by both places, also had the opportunity to see the beautiful bays of Kuşadası through a boat tour. After visiting the Ada Modern Art Gallery and Rosemary Memorial House, the mayors and council members thanked Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel.

Mayor Ömer Günel expressed that they were very happy to host the mayors and council members of the Natural Cities Union in Kuşadası, stating, “I would like to thank all union members who accompanied us on the trip we organized to promote the beauties and projects of our city. It was a productive weekend for us, as we both joyfully hosted our guests and introduced Kuşadası to them. We will continue to strengthen and grow our union day by day.”
