Dual citizens in Edirne cast their votes in the parliamentary elections taking place in Bulgaria, fulfilling their civic duty from the early hours of the morning.
Preparations were made at the polling stations set up in Edirne, and guidance notes were posted on windows and doors to facilitate the voting process for dual citizens.
Before the voting process, polling officials checked the identity documents and passports of the citizens.
Bulgaria is going to general elections for the 7th time in the last 3 years. Dual citizens living in Edirne are voting at the Bulgarian Consulate, 75th Year Primary School, and polling stations established in Keşan. The voting process, which will continue until 20:00, is attracting great interest from compatriots.
For the early general elections in Bulgaria, 168 polling stations are being set up across Turkey, with 3 in Edirne.
Voters who have gone to the polls three times in 2021 and once in 2022 and 2023 last cast their votes on June 9, 2024, for the early general elections and European Parliament (EP) elections.

7 Elections in the Last 3 Years
Cevat Güneş, President of the Thrace Balkan Turks Culture and Solidarity Association, stated that compatriots have gone to the polls for the 7th time in the last three and a half years.
Güneş expressed hope for high participation in the elections and called on compatriots to exercise their democratic rights. He mentioned that voting would continue between 07:00 and 20:00 and emphasized that all polling stations are located close to citizens’ homes, urging them to spare 5 minutes to cast their votes.

“We Are Trying to Defend Our Rights”
Figen Kılıç, one of the compatriots who came to vote, said, “First of all, we are trying to defend all our rights. We will continue to defend our rights tirelessly. The more votes we cast, the stronger our position will be. We voted early in the morning. May it be beneficial.”
