Selçuk will celebrate October 29 with enthusiasm.

Selçuk will celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Republic with enthusiasm through events held on October 28-29.

The events organized in Selçuk due to the Republic Day on October 29 will start with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk Monument at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 28.

Ataol Behramoğlu in Selçuk
The writer and poet Ataol Behramoğlu and Haluk Çetin will meet with the people of Selçuk for a music and poetry recital. The recital titled “The Brightness of the Republic” will take place at 7:30 PM on Monday, October 28, at the Ahmet Taner Kışlalı Hall. The excitement of the Republic will commence with an official ceremony held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29.

The Selçuk Municipality will reward children on Republic Day, October 29, with the Happy Children Workshop in the 14 Mayıs Neighborhood. The Happy Children Workshop, which will serve children from families in need of social support, will open at 1:30 PM.

Torchlight procession
The events organized by the Selçuk Municipality on the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey will continue on the evening of October 29 with a Torchlight Procession and a concert by Adamlar. The Torchlight Procession will start at 7:23 PM from in front of the Atatürk Monument, followed by the Adamlar Concert at 8:30 PM in the market area.

Emphasizing that the Republic Day on October 29 should always be celebrated with enthusiasm, Selçuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel stated: “As a country, we have been experiencing great pain and heartbreaking losses lately. We are all very sad. While violence against women, children, and animals continues on one hand, our Republic values are under intense attack on the other. This is why we should celebrate our October 29 Republic Day in the most enthusiastic way possible. We must hold on to our Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his principles and revolutions, and the values of the Republic more than ever. Because the values of the Republic will be possible by protecting women and children through the path shown to us by the founder of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. By advancing through the values of the Republic and following the path of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, we can overcome this darkness. That is why I invite all the people of Selçuk to celebrate our October 29 Republic Day with enthusiasm.”
