Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın attended the 42nd Ordinary Council Meeting of the Healthy Cities Association of Turkey. Mayor Aydın thanked the Union President and Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay for hosting the event.

The 42nd Ordinary Council Meeting of the Healthy Cities Association of Turkey was held in Izmir with the participation of representatives from member municipalities. At the meeting, where important statements were made, it was emphasized that climate change and food security have become the most significant issues for cities. It was pointed out that the world’s and Turkey’s population is rapidly aging, and important work must be done in this regard. The meeting highlighted that due to global warming, temperatures are rising every year, and it is impossible for life on Earth to continue with this temperature increase.

Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın attended the 42nd Ordinary Council Meeting of the Healthy Cities Association of Turkey, accompanied by Municipal Council Members Necati Gezer and Hikmet Şevik. Mudanya Mayor Deniz Dalgıç and Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir also participated in the meeting. Mayor Aydın stated, “I thank the Union President and Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay, who hosted the meeting organized under the title ‘Healthy Touches to Cities’ for the sustainability of human-centered projects that make our cities more livable, as well as those who contributed.”

At the meeting, the membership of 20 district municipalities to the union was unanimously accepted. With the latest additions, the number of members of the Healthy Cities Association of Turkey has risen to 151.
