Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu issued a message on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day, stating, “Long live the Republic, may freedom last forever!”
Governor Hamza Aydoğdu included the following statements in his Republic Day message:
“The Republic is a gift to us from those who carry the fire of independence in their hearts and won great victories at the cost of their lives. This value, which Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk referred to as ‘my greatest work,’ heralds a new awakening and resurgence in the Century of Turkey. The Republic is not only an honorable memory of the past but also a hopeful tomorrow for the future.
This epic, written by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms with a nation reborn from its ashes on occupied lands, is inscribed in the golden pages of history with unshakable will and endless faith. The Republic is the name of virtue, morality, the will of the people, rights, and justice. It is our most important duty to embrace the Republic, which symbolizes the revival, unity, and brotherhood of our nation, along with all its achievements, forever and to leave a country that future generations will be proud of in every field.
Every page of our history is filled with the sacrifices of our heroes who fought side by side. Our ancestors, young and old, men and women, rushed to the front during the War of Independence and defended their land and freedom with the power of unity. The Republic is the embodiment of this spirit, of being ‘one heart, one wrist.’
We leave the duty of elevating and protecting this sacred trust to our youth. Remember that the Republic will continue to sprout in your hands and will be carried into the future by your determination. Where there is brotherhood and solidarity, no enemy can prevail. Never lose the power born from unity, keep your love for the homeland alive at all times.
Today, while celebrating the 101st anniversary of our Republic, we renew our determination for this blessed march; we walk resolutely into the Century of Turkey. We will work with all our strength to elevate this legacy, which will last forever. I commemorate all our heroes, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy and gratitude, and I wholeheartedly celebrate Republic Day.
The Republic is a flag; we are a nation under its shadow; as this flag falls, we too fall, as it rises, we too rise. Long live the Republic, may freedom last forever!”
