Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements regarding the current status of the Turkey Card Project. Minister Uraloğlu pointed out that the project is carried out by PTT under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, stating, “With our Turkey Card Project, which will consolidate public transportation cards from all 81 provinces of Turkey into a single card, we will eliminate the confusion of different cards in each city, and a single public transportation card will be valid from Edirne to Kars throughout Turkey.”
Turkey Card will be valid in 18 provinces by the end of the year.
Emphasizing the importance of cooperation with municipalities in expanding the Turkey Card Project to 81 provinces, Uraloğlu said that they have launched the Turkey Card in the pilot provinces of Konya, Kayseri, Gümüşhane, Yozgat, and Istanbul on the Gayrettepe-New Airport Metro line. Minister Uraloğlu stated that they aim to increase the number of provinces included in the system to 18 by the end of 2024, saying, “By the end of the year, we aim to launch the Turkey Card in Istanbul for Marmaray, in Ankara for Başkentray, in Izmir for İzban, as well as in Rize, Kocaeli, Aksaray, Tokat, Karabük, Uşak, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, Kilis, Çorum, and Gaziantep.”
47,265 Turkey Cards sold in 5 pilot provinces.
Highlighting the intense interest shown by citizens in the Turkey Card application in the 5 active provinces, Minister Uraloğlu stated, “In the 5 pilot provinces we have launched, a total of 47,265 Turkey Cards have been sold in a short time. A total of 118,273 trips have been made with the Turkey Card.”

Minister Uraloğlu stated that citizens who want to obtain the Turkey Card can purchase it from PTT workplaces, continuing his words as follows: “We are launching this project, which will provide convenience in transportation for our citizens, at a nominal price. Citizens wishing to obtain the Turkey Card from PTT workplaces will pay a symbolic amount of 40 TL for the Non-Card Turkey Card and 60 TL for the Debit and Prepaid Turkey Cards.” He also noted that work is ongoing regarding the privileged cards to be provided to privileged groups such as the disabled, relatives of martyrs, veterans, and those over 65, stating that discussions with the Ministry of Family and Social Services are ongoing.
