At the point where Turkish aviation history began in Kayseri, the Mayor of Melikgazi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who laid the foundations of the “Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Aerospace Sciences High School,” inspected the school, where the furnishing works have begun.
Stating that the heinous terrorist attack that occurred at TUSAŞ was aimed at the progress our country has made in the aviation and space industry, Mayor Palancıoğlu condemned it strongly and expressed that they would become even stronger by raising young people who would develop the aviation and space industry in Kayseri, saying:
“I strongly condemn the heinous attack at TUSAŞ. May God never let it happen again. I wish mercy from God for our martyrs and urgent healing for our injured. Those who look upon this beautiful state that our country and defense industry have reached with ill intentions, those who make this situation a problem, and foreign powers unfortunately do not want Turkey to develop. Therefore, this is actually an attack not only on TUSAŞ but also on Turkey’s development, prosperity, and defense industry. We are making a beautiful investment here at the point where Turkish aviation history began and was written in Kayseri. We have laid the foundation of the Aviation and Aerospace Sciences High School, and the construction is currently completed. It is a very important investment that will contribute to Kayseri’s education system, Turkey, and the industry, with a total of 11 workshops and a hangar. We see that the attack on TUSAŞ is actually an attack on such an important investment, especially a significant assault on the progress our country will make in the aviation and space fields in the future. We hope that this investment we are making here will be completed in a good and beneficial manner, and we pray to God that young people who will carry out qualified work for the future of the country and develop the aviation and space industry will be raised here. I wish again a speedy recovery. May our new high school be beneficial, inshallah.”
