In the first nine months of 2024, Turkey increased its pasta exports from 606 million dollars to 659 million dollars, marking a 9% increase and solidifying its place as the second-largest exporter in the world.
Muhammet Öztürk, the President of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds, and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Turkey provided pasta to the tables of 155 countries between January and September 2024 and shared that Turkey has the potential to exceed 1 billion dollars in pasta exports by 2025.
Öztürk emphasized that Turkey’s pasta exports have grown by 41% in the last 5 years, increasing from 577 million dollars to 813 million dollars, saying, “If we maintain a similar trend in pasta, we could reach an export volume of 1 billion 250 million dollars in the next 5 years. We are strongly establishing our presence worldwide, from Europe to the Far East, and from America to Africa. The diversity of our pasta sector’s export markets encourages us to achieve our goals.”
Japan, the USA, and China are among the top 10 countries in pasta exports.
In Turkey’s pasta exports, Somalia ranks first with 93 million dollars, while Venezuela demanded 70 million dollars worth of Turkish pasta. Pasta exports to Ghana increased by 80%, reaching 55 million dollars, while Japan acquired 54.5 million dollars worth of Turkish pasta, securing the fourth position on the list.
The fifth country in pasta exports is Togo, with 40 million dollars, while our pasta exports to the USA climbed by 33%, rising from 15 million dollars to 20 million dollars. Turkey sent 16 million dollars worth of pasta to China and 14 million dollars to Cameroon. These countries were followed by Benin, Niger, and Iraq.
