The 100th Anniversary Museum from Çanakkale to the Republic, which was established by the Mayor of Talas, Mustafa Yalçın, and has been attracting a large number of visitors since its opening, will be open on October 29, Republic Day.

Opened on January 9, the “100th Anniversary Museum from Çanakkale to the Republic” has hosted over 100,000 visitors in the past 9 months and is ready for those who want to experience the excitement of Republic Day this Tuesday. The museum, which was created by Mayor Yalçın to instill the spirit of Çanakkale particularly in the youth, has seen a surge in visitors in such a short time of 9 months. Located in a historic Ottoman stone mansion at the entrance of Culture Street in the Gölbaşı Square of Kiçiköy Neighborhood, the museum continues to attract intense interest from all ages and backgrounds. The museum, which receives significant attention on important days like March 18 Çanakkale Martyrs’ Day and August 30 Victory Day, has also been prepared for the Republic Day on October 29. On August 30, when national and spiritual sentiments peaked, the number of visitors reached 3,580 in a single day. Those who visited the museum expressed that they loved and felt excited about the exhibited works, stating that they felt transported back to those days.

6,500 original works

The building, which contains a total of 5 sections that virtually immerse visitors in the Çanakkale War, features 2 libraries, 2 exhibition halls, and 1 seminar room. The museum houses 6,000 special pieces related to the Çanakkale War, the National Struggle, and the early years of the Republic. Additionally, the exhibition, which includes 5,400 books, can be visited free of charge.
