‘My President is Next to Me’ meetings shed light on new term investments in Yeşilyurt.

Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit emphasized that they will bring permanent solutions to the problems by listening to the demands of the residents of TOKİ Yavuz Selim Neighborhood during the ‘My President is with Me’ meeting. The ninth of the ‘My President is with Me’ meetings, aimed at resolving the demands of the neighborhood residents, was held in TOKİ Yavuz Selim Neighborhood. In the meeting chaired by Malatya Metropolitan Mayor Sami Er and Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit, the problems of the neighborhood and their solutions were discussed in all aspects. The meeting was attended by representatives of public institutions that invest in the city’s infrastructure and superstructure, including AFAD, MOTAŞ, and MASKİ. AK Party Yeşilyurt District Chairman Ramazan Yaylacı, who attended the meeting, stated, “With the meetings initiated by our Mayor, who works day and night for the prosperity and reconstruction of our district, we are meticulously addressing all our neighborhoods. These kinds of meetings, where our citizens speak and share their problems, are productive and pleasant. We will always continue to be with you and your teams.” Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit stated that they are identifying problems on-site and providing permanent solutions, noting that the ‘My President is with Me’ meetings play a significant role in addressing demands. Geçit expressed that they are listening to citizens by visiting neighborhoods one by one and conducting their work in light of these meetings, saying, “We plan services that will increase the living standards of our neighborhoods in these meetings. We think together, make decisions together, and implement together. Officials from public institutions related to local governments take notes on any issues faced by the neighborhoods, and we take strong and permanent steps for solutions. We never shy away from confronting problems; we prepare a short, medium, and long-term work schedule for solving problems, and we take our work seriously. Our teams will immediately plan for the resolution of problems, and we will closely follow the entire process.” Mayor Geçit also emphasized that there must be accountability for the issues raised to them in the future, stating, “We are not afraid of being held accountable, we do not flee, and we do not want to be politicians who disappear from the field after being elected. Our doors are always wide open to you. In addition to our neighborhood meetings, we also meet face-to-face with all citizens who come to our municipality. We work tirelessly with our team to fulfill any promise we have made. We will fulfill our responsibilities to address the issues that arise in Yavuz Selim Neighborhood, both due to the earthquake and daily life. We are doing our best to revitalize our neighborhoods with strong investments at a high prestige level. I thank the muhtar and the neighborhood residents who welcomed us with love and affection.” Malatya Metropolitan Mayor Sami Er stated that decisive and strong steps are being taken to heal the wounds of the earthquake in Malatya, saying that their aim is to listen to citizens, learn about problems, and produce solutions. Mayor Er also expressed that they work in harmony and coordination with Yeşilyurt and Battalgazi Municipalities, as well as other district municipalities, stating, “Our only goal is to ensure that our city rises stronger with all its values. While demolition works continue on one side of our city, our permanent residences and workplaces are rapidly rising on the other side. We are working tirelessly day and night to revive and reconstruct Malatya. While earthquake-resistant houses are being built by TOKİ and Emlak Konut under the coordination of our ministry, we are also fulfilling our responsibilities to ensure that the process continues in a planned and fast manner. In the last three months, our housing constructions and tenders have accelerated, but our reserve areas are progressing slowly; the reason is that there is a stay of execution, and our citizens are not leaving. In fact, this historic opportunity needs to be evaluated in the best way. We must overcome this together.
