The Rector of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan, invited all chess enthusiasts to the Republic Day Chess Tournament, organized in cooperation with ALKÜ and the Turkish Chess Federation, to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Republic.

The Republic Day Chess Tournament will be held in cooperation with ALKÜ and the Turkish Chess Federation. Those who wish to participate in the chess tournament, which will take place on November 2-3, 2024, at the ALKÜ Life Center, can apply at www.antalya.tsf.org.tr. A prize of 1,000 TL will be awarded to the athlete who comes first in the category of 8 years and under, 1,250 TL to the athlete who comes first in the category of 10 years and under, and 1,750 TL to the athlete who comes first in the category of 16 years and under. The winner of the open category will receive a prize of 3,000 TL. The total prize amount in the tournament will be 15,000 TL.

Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan called on chess lovers who wish to participate in the Republic Day Chess Tournament. Emphasizing the importance of the tournament as a significant step towards becoming a “Grandmaster,” Rector Türkdoğan stated, “Alongside our academic activities conducted in the light of science, we continue to implement programs aimed at bringing many undiscovered valuable talents in our city to our country. In this context, we are organizing the Republic Day Chess Tournament in special celebration of the 101st anniversary of our Republic with the Turkish Chess Federation, to bring forth ‘Grandmasters’ in chess. I invite all chess enthusiasts to our tournament and wish them to showcase their talents.”
