A unity message from Erkan Özkan and Mehmet Yiğiner

The President of the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber, Erkan Özkan, paid his second visit after taking office to the President of the Turkish Drivers and Automobile Federation (TŞOF), Mehmet Yiğiner. In the meeting, which was also attended by the previous president, Celil Anık, and board members, Erkan Özkan and Mehmet Yiğiner discussed the problems faced by tradesmen and evaluated possible solutions. The meeting also addressed the development of joint strategies to combat illegal transportation and ways to alleviate the burden of Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on commercial vehicle purchases.

This previously planned visit took place in an atmosphere where the pain of the treacherous TUSAŞ terrorist attack was still fresh. The deep sorrow felt for the citizens and colleagues who lost their lives in the attack was reflected in the messages from both sides. Erkan Özkan stated during this meaningful visit that they prayed for the martyrs as a management team and shared the grief. Speaking about the visit, President Özkan said, “After starting my duty, we paid a courtesy visit to TŞOF President Mr. Mehmet Yiğiner along with our board of directors. In our meeting, we had a productive consultation on the solutions to the problems faced by our tradesmen. Mr. Yiğiner expressed that as a federation, they are always by the side of the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber and are ready to provide all kinds of support in defending the rights of our tradesmen. This strong cooperation gives us hope for the future of our tradesmen. Additionally, we prayed for our colleagues and citizens who lost their lives in the treacherous TUSAŞ terrorist attack and recited Fatiha for their souls. I extend my gratitude to Mr. Yiğiner for his heartfelt welcome and hospitality.”

Erkan Özkan emphasized that they will always stand by tradesmen as the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber and will work decisively to produce solutions to their problems.

TŞOF President Mehmet Yiğiner expressed his pleasure regarding the visit of the new president of the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber, Erkan Özkan, and his accompanying delegation, stating: “We hosted the new President of the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber, Erkan Özkan, along with the previous president, Celil Anık, and the members of the auditing board at TŞOF. I thank them for their kind wishes and for the courtesy visits we held regarding issues related to our transportation tradesmen. I am also grateful for the gifts and wishes they conveyed during their visit. I wish success to our Presidents Erkan and Celil, as well as our managers in their new roles.”

Yiğiner indicated that they are open to cooperation for solving the problems of transportation tradesmen and that the federation will always be by the side of tradesmen.

Steps Taken for Joint Efforts
In the meeting, steps to be taken against the needs of transportation tradesmen in İzmir and the current challenges in the sector were discussed, and it was decided to increase cooperation between TŞOF and the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen’s Chamber. Both parties emphasized that they would act together to protect the rights of tradesmen and resolve sectoral issues.
