“The world is talking about the knowledge economy”

In her speech at the signing ceremony, Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Sahin stated, “We are going through a tough period. The world is talking about the knowledge economy. There is good governance of knowledge, marketing, infrastructure, and superstructure. There is a city working on this. We have goals in the defense industry related to the combination of knowledge, and we have goals in health tourism. We are attracting one percent of the resources in Turkey to the city. This shows us something. Statistics and numbers speak. We will have a strong project team to access knowledge and resources. We need to teach what symbiosis and deep learning are. We are still at the very beginning. May this be auspicious. I thank everyone who contributed.”

“We must combine our strengths”

Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce President Tuncay Yıldırım emphasized the difficulties of the geography, stating, “We need to combine our strengths. It is of great importance to support any work that will contribute to the city by meeting at a common point. We thank Fatma Sahin and our professors very much. Because this city needs to be a city that can market what it produces, rather than just a producing city.”

“Contribution to the city’s digital transformation”

Prof. Dr. Şehmus Demir, the Rector of Gaziantep University of Islamic Science and Technology, emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “This is a very serious effort that will unite all projects, all studies, and all publications, ensuring that everyone is informed in a single framework. We will be very honored to be part of this effort. It is very important to be part of this work that will contribute to the city’s digital transformation and sustainable development.”

“We will succeed together”

Prof. Dr. Türkay Dereli, the Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University, emphasized the determination set forth by Fatma Sahin regarding achieving success together, stating, “We all know what needs to be done in this country. That is why we are taking steps. Strength comes from unity. We live in a beautiful city. Everything is available. Our four universities and all our relevant organizations need to be united as one. We must work and produce together.”

“We must advance food exports”

Prof. Dr. Güner Dağlı, the Rector of SANKO University, expressed the need to expand the circle, stating, “We have reached a point where we can support each other. The biggest feature of our region and city is food exports. We must take this a few steps further.”
