Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality has started asphalt renewal work on the busiest artery of Türkoğlu. With an investment of 11 million Turkish Lira, the transportation comfort of the 3-kilometer-long artery will be increased.

Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality continues its investment efforts in all 11 districts to strengthen the transportation network of residential areas and provide citizens with more comfortable travel opportunities. In Türkoğlu, road renewal works are still ongoing. One of the locations where the teams coordinated by the Road Construction, Maintenance, and Repair Department are working is Mahir Ünal Street, one of the busiest arteries of the district. The artery, which is approximately 3 kilometers long and 20 meters wide, provides access to residential and commercial areas as well as social facilities in the district center, and has a high volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. After the completion of the infrastructure works, the asphalt renewal applications have begun. While the existing asphalt is being milled in phases, new asphalt is being laid on the milled sections. Due to the deformations caused by the February 6 earthquakes and infrastructure works, disruptions in transportation had occurred on Mahir Ünal Street. The aim is to improve the standard of this street and provide the local people with a more comfortable travel option.

One of the district residents, Ahmet Palabıyık, said, “Türkoğlu deserved this service. Thank you very much to our president Fırat Görgel.”

Mulla Solmaz stated, “This road was always dusty and dirty due to vehicle traffic. Moreover, traffic accidents occurred frequently here. Now our road is being renewed very beautifully. I thank everyone who contributed to this effort.”
