Quality systems training for food safety from GTB
Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB), within the framework of the “GTB Food Sector 2nd UR-GE Project” supported by the Ministry of Trade, organized a training on “Quality Systems for Food Safety” for member businesses operating in the food sector.

Gaziantep Commodity Exchange (GTB) organized a training on “Quality Systems for Food Safety” for member enterprises operating in the food sector within the scope of the “GTB Food Sector 2nd UR-GE Project”, supported by the Ministry of Commerce.
In the training, participants were informed about the basic principles of HACCP, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, FSSC 22000 Standard, BRCGS Standard, and IFS Standard as well as Halal and Kosher certifications.
Gaziantep Commodity Exchange conducted the “Quality Systems for Food Safety” training to contribute to the knowledge and skills of enterprises operating in the food sector regarding quality systems, existing legal regulations, application methods, and best practice examples.
Speaking at the opening of the training held at the new administrative service building, Expert Trainer Fatih Çakmak stated that food safety is one of the cornerstones of a healthy life.
Çakmak emphasized that the quality management systems established for food safety play a critical role in creating and maintaining standards in food production, stating that these systems aim to ensure hygiene, quality, and reliability at every stage from the production of food products to their consumption.
Pointing out that the quality systems created for food safety also play an important role in international trade, Çakmak said, “In a globalizing world, the quality and safety of food products constitute one of the most fundamental components of trade. Countries demand compliance with certain standards and regulations in food imports. Therefore, businesses need to adopt these quality systems to compete in international markets and maintain their sustainability.”
After the opening speech, during the training, Expert Trainer Çakmak provided detailed information to the participants about the importance of food safety, quality, and food hygiene, the terms HACCP and ISO 22000, GFSI (BRCGS, IFS, FSSC 22000) standards, and product certification (Halal, Kosher) systems.
At the end of the interactive training, trainer Çakmak answered questions from company representatives and shared insights on recent developments related to the topic.
