President Çolakbayrakdar: “The most important investment for the future is planting trees.”

Kocasinan Municipality has brought hundreds of plane trees aged between 15-20 years together with the soil around Bekir Yıldız Boulevard for a greener Kocasinan. Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar stated that one of the most important investments for the future is planting trees, and he said that they are making intense efforts to build a greener city against the negative impacts of climate change.

Stating that the teams of the Kocasinan Municipality Park and Gardens Directorate regularly plant trees in a region every day, Mayor Çolakbayrakdar emphasized their intense efforts for a greener and more environmentally friendly city, saying, “In the fabric of cities, some works are more valuable and important than the routine daily tasks carried out by the municipality. Planting trees is extremely valuable. Because it not only beautifies nature but also contributes to preventing climate change. In this regard, plane trees, which establish a bridge from the past to the future due to their long lifespan, hold a special significance and value for our city. At this point, we are carrying out multifaceted efforts to protect century-old trees and plant new plane trees. These plane trees will grow over time and create a large forest within Kocasinan. I believe this will be a service we leave as a beautiful legacy for future generations. As it is known, while the amount of green space per capita is 9 square meters according to world standards, with the services we provide, this amount has reached 15.65 square meters per capita in Kocasinan. Although we have exceeded world standards, we do not see this as sufficient for ourselves and continue our efforts for a greener Kocasinan. With our work, a total of 6 million 399 thousand 961 square meters of green space is being created in Kocasinan. We know that a person who loves the environment also loves people. As we have done until today, we will create greener and larger areas in our region in the future. A greener Kocasinan means a greener Kayseri, a greener Turkey. For this reason, we are continuing our work rapidly. Our entire effort is to build a more livable and lush Kayseri. On this occasion, I wish that the trees planted and to be planted will bring beauty to our city and our environment,” he stated.

Mayor Çolakbayrakdar, who said, ‘Kocasinan is walking towards the future with more confident steps,’ concluded his remarks by saying, “We will continue our tree planting efforts in every region of a greener Kocasinan. The investments we make are directed towards both our present and our future.”
