A high school student who developed software to determine the most suitable plant for agricultural production became the first in Turkey.
A high school student in Samsun is working on a project that will analyze data from agricultural lands and map information obtained through satellite systems to determine the most suitable crop for agricultural production, enabling farmers to make informed decisions in their production.
A high school student in Samsun developed software that analyzes data from agricultural land and map information obtained through satellite systems to determine the most suitable crop for agricultural production, enabling farmers to make informed decisions. With this project, the student became the Turkish champion in a competition he participated in.
Fahrettin Altun, a 15-year-old student from Vezirköprü Hatice Kemal Kayalıoğlu Science High School, became the Turkish champion in the high school category at the Future in Agriculture Competition held in Erzurum, which included 100 teams from different cities in Turkey, with his project ‘NETQ AI’. Altun, who won a prize of 30,000 TL, provides farmers with a powerful guide to make informed decisions through his project.
Speaking about his project, Altun said, “NETQ AI is an advanced technology agricultural solution developed by BEFO Software. The project analyzes data from agricultural lands and map information obtained through satellite systems to determine the most suitable crop for agricultural production. As a result of the data processed with artificial intelligence algorithms, products that will provide maximum yield are recommended to farmers. The aim of NETQ AI is to increase efficiency in agricultural production and provide farmers with a strong guide to make informed decisions. In this way, it maximizes the potential of agricultural areas, allowing for sustainable and profitable farming. NETQ AI offers an important solution to minimize the uncertainties faced by farmers by increasing efficiency in agriculture.”
“I believe that agriculture needs to be supported by technological innovations”
Altun stated:
“My purpose for participating in the Future in Agriculture Competition was to contribute to a sustainable future by developing innovative solutions that would increase efficiency in agriculture. I believe that agriculture is one of the most important areas of the future and that it needs to be supported by technological innovations. By participating in the competition, I wanted to showcase this vision and offer solutions to problems in agriculture. I aimed to achieve my goal of making agricultural production more efficient and sustainable by sharing knowledge with teams from all over Turkey. BEFO Software is looking for sponsors to develop its innovative projects in various sectors and move into mass production. Our goal is to become Turkey’s leading company by offering sustainable solutions. With sponsor support, we aim to realize our projects, reach a wider audience, and provide effective solutions.”
