ASELSAN has introduced its drone hunter systems developed with advanced technology, such as KORKUT 25, BUKALEMUN, KANGAL FPV, and SEDA 100-cUAV, for the first time at the SAHA EXPO International Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair.

ASELSAN showcased its next-generation anti-drone systems, developed entirely with national resources, at the SAHA EXPO International Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair held in Istanbul. Among the anti-drone systems presented by ASELSAN at the fair are the KORKUT 25 mm close air defense system, the BUKALEMUN GNSS deception system, the KANGAL FPV anti-drone system, and the SEDA 100-Cuav acoustic drone detection system. ASELSAN systems, developed against the drone threat frequently used on the battlefield in the changing military conditions of today, will enhance the strength of the heroic Turkish soldier. The products developed by ASELSAN, aimed at the growing problem of mini and micro drone threats globally, are expected to attract significant interest in the international arena.

Detects mini and micro UAV threats and provides protection to mobile units

The KORKUT 25 unmanned turret is primarily developed against armored ground targets. KORKUT 25, which provides excellent compatibility for integration into tactical vehicles, can be mounted on 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 wheeled or tracked vehicles. KORKUT 25 stands out with its unique design aimed at neutralizing mini and micro UAV threats in rural environments. After receiving information from external sensors, KORKUT 25, equipped with 25 mm fragmenting ammunition developed by ASELSAN, has both functional and physical destruction capabilities against UAV threats. Its gyroscope-stabilized structure, remote command feature, high-resolution infrared cameras, laser rangefinder, automatic target detection and tracking function, and advanced automatic ballistic calculation for high shooting accuracy make KORKUT 25 suitable for all combat conditions. With its comprehensive surveillance, external sensor integration, and remote control capabilities, KORKUT 25 significantly reduces vulnerabilities to attacks arising from UAV threats while enhancing the operator’s situational awareness. KORKUT 25 has the capability to detect mini and micro UAV threats while in motion, providing significant protection to mobile units.

Deceives drone threats

The BUKALEMUN system will serve as the eyes and ears of security forces on the tactical field against drone threats, which have become one of the most effective weapons in recent times. With the ability to conduct deception in GNSS bands, BUKALEMUN can perform deception operations in multi-GNSS bands. As the first known system of its kind, BUKALEMUN can successfully execute deception functions over relatively long distances in both static and dynamic scenarios (working in an integrated structure with radar-like target location determination systems).

Complete protection against risks

The KANGAL FPV, developed with ASELSAN’s game-changing technology, provides protection against drones and mini UAVs for military facilities, bases, government institution buildings, high-level official residences, ceremony areas, and checkpoints. KANGAL can be integrated into the security forces’ vehicles, providing protection against potential risks during the vehicles’ movement and stops. FPV class UAV threats are becoming increasingly common and have been frequently observed, particularly in the Russia-Ukraine war. Products in this threat class pose serious risks not only to target cluster units/base regions/critical facilities but also to people and ground vehicles. It is essential to neutralize FPV threats, known to be produced in large quantities at low costs in war zones, through countermeasure systems. In this context, FPV threats can be neutralized using electronic warfare methods with the KANGAL-FPV system developed by ASELSAN.

Additional capabilities added

The IHTAR system, developed to neutralize mini and micro UAV threats in urban and rural environments, is used for the protection of critical facilities and base areas, border security, public safety, and the security of large organizations. Various sensors such as electro-optical and radar are integrated into the IHTAR system, and the SEDA 100-cUAV system is also integrated to enhance the capabilities for detecting mini/micro UAVs. The SEDA 100-cUAV system, with its precisely defined and placed microphones, listens to the environment, allowing it to detect fixed and rotary-wing UAV threats including FPVs at varying ranges. This system can detect UAVs at longer ranges compared to its counterparts.
