The People’s Triathlon returns with the 33rd Alanya International Triathlon Competition.

The International Triathlon Competition, held in Alanya for 33 years, will take place on October 27 with the motto ‘Where Did We Leave Off’. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated that after many years, a Public Triathlon will be organized again to make the sport of triathlon popular among the people.

The 33rd International Triathlon Competition in Alanya will be held this year under the motto ‘Where Did We Leave Off’. The events will include the Elite Men’s and Women’s European Cup as well as the age group Turkey Championship, alongside the Public Triathlon returning after many years.

Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik made a statement regarding the competitions. He noted that they have prepared a unique organization adorned with different distances and various awards, saying, “Our competition encourages athlete participation, and the most significant feature of this year is that we will enable our people to be directly involved in this great excitement. The first Public Triathlon was held on July 1, 1992, and although it was organized several times in those years, it was later abandoned for various reasons. This year, we are organizing it for the first time in many years to make the sport of triathlon, which is synonymous with our city, beloved and integrated with our people. Our goal is to bring it to the public and ensure everyone’s participation. The competition is open to all participants aged 13 and over. Participation is free, and all our citizens are invited. Our application requirements will be announced soon through our municipality’s website www.alanya.bel.tr, social media accounts, and the press. Our competition is planned as 250 meters swimming, 5 kilometers cycling, and 1.2 kilometers running. Citizens participating in the Public Triathlon will be provided with a chip by the Federation, just like elite athletes, and they will receive a bag, t-shirt, and a participation medal as a memento at the end of the competition.
