Turkey’s national engineering power at sea, STM, showcased the “STM NETA” Unmanned Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, developed with local and national resources, for the first time at the SAHA EXPO Fair. STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated, “We named our unmanned autonomous underwater platform STM NETA 300. It is quite compact, weighing approximately 70 kilograms, which can be easily carried by two people. It has a modular structure and can be programmed for different missions.”
In the Turkish defense industry, STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., which develops national and innovative systems, has signed another game-changing technology that will be the protector of the depths in the Blue Homeland. STM combined its engineering capabilities in military ships and unmanned autonomous systems and conducted the first demonstration of the “Unmanned Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (UAUV) Project STM NETA” at the SAHA EXPO Fair. The introduction of Turkey’s national unmanned underwater vehicle STM NETA was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense Industry Mustafa Murat Şeker, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz, and fair visitors.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz remarked, “We operate in many different fields, one of which is military maritime. Autonomous systems and tactical national UAV systems are among these. We have created a product that will combine STM’s engineering capabilities, which we will introduce shortly. The unmanned autonomous underwater platform we named STM NETA 300 is quite compact, weighing approximately 70 kilograms, which can be comfortably carried by two people. It has a modular structure, and it can be programmed for different missions. Whether it’s mine countermeasure operations, intelligence, reconnaissance, or search and rescue operations, it can be used in many different areas. It is capable of executing autonomous missions for up to 24 hours.”
